I just wrote "End of Play." I'm hearing the first full draft of AIR SPACE on Friday at Nashville Rep's incredible Ingram New Works Lab. This is exciting. This is the best. There is nothing better than a room full of smart actors and generous writers who are taking off their heads and letting you wear them around.
The only thing better is the time before the first reading. You can still be proud that you were gutsy enough to write a whole first draft. You can wave the stack of pages around at people and talk about how funny it's going to be. It's sort of like getting a haircut and not even looking in the mirror and just walking around all day tossing your head, and really believing that everyone is staring at you because you look so amazing.
But mirrors are good to.
